While I will be voting in the primary election, I am not quite elated enough about McCain or Obama to be waiting with bated breath for my moment at the voter's box. No, while this may seem selfishly small in comparison with the fate of our country, a week from today is. . . THE SONOGRAM! For some reason I am even more eager during this pregnancy to know the gender of our baby than I was the previous two times. John V has done a complete about face on us and instead of insisting that it is a brother, or a brother and a sister, now he says it's definitely a sister. There's no depending on that boy. : ) John says it's a boy, and while I think that is where I'm leaning deep down, I'm a little burned because I thought the same thing about Kailey. Speaking of Kailey, she surprisingly shows no leanings either direction. : ) We will be ecstatic either way. I think one reason I am eagerly anticipating this day is because it will help the reality of this to sink in a little further. The baby's movements have certainly helped in the last few weeks, but I still catch myself in the mirror and have a moment of shock before I remember that I'm pregnant. It's so strange because I just did this! We are doing all of the usual preparations, but most of all, we are spending time daily praying for John V and Kailey that the Lord will be preparing them for this transition and already filling them with love for this little one who will change and bless their lives forever. I can't wait to see their responses to the sonogram next week.
Want to weigh in on boy or girl?!

I am so excited for you guys! This sonogram is always my favorite too! How exciting!!! I'm terrible at the whole guess-the-sex game. But, I kind of think a boy would be neat because of the story of Joshua and all. You'll have to let us know once you find out!! Can't wait!
My guess is girl. Not sure why, but there it is!
I say girl and her name will be Haley :) it would be fun to have rhyming names instead of all c's :)
ok so really...we need to get together! maybe while together we can have one of those much needed breaks!
I'm guessing girl too. You should name her Kylie or Bryleigh----something that rhymes with Riley! We've got to keep up the Willbanks/Critz name game! : )
My guess is a boy. Ever since you told that story about God's intervention in saving your little one and showing you through the story of Joshua, I thought it would be so amazing to give a little boy that testimony through giving him that name (that was back when I assumed you guys were doing a J/K sound pattern to all of your names, before you told us your baby name ideas -- which are adorable :)) So anyway, I think a boy because of that - totally irrational, but there it is.
And thanks so much for all of your feedback recently on my blog, and especially your prayers. I'm going to try the massaging.
I got nothing! I can't decide!!! I'll get back to you. I am really excited for you guys! Maybe I hope it's a girl so she will be the same age as Ansley but then I think it could be a boy. Well you know it is one of those and either one is blessed to be getting the family they are getting. :)
I can't wait!!!!!
I think girl but my last 2 predictions have been off so its probably a boy - we can't wait to hear!!!
Hey Courtney! I'm so excited for you and John! Ok... so my guess is a boy. When you said that was your feeling deep down, that made me lean more towards a little boy. Either one will be a sweet little blessing though!!! I can't wait to find out!
Now I cannot wait for March 4th! I will be checking this blog non stop...want to give us an appointment tiem so I can spend a littel of my day away from the computer! :)
Either way I will be so thrilled...no friend like a sister...no friend like a brother! :)
Jared and I are saying a boy!
Who knows . . .I was wrong 3 times with mine, so I sure don't trust my "gut feeling"! he! Can't wait to find out, though!!! Yea!
My guess is another boy. Don't know why, just a hunch. Can't wait to hear!! So excited for your family!
Looking forward to Tuesday!
